Florida State 2010 Season Predictions

While it’s clear that the Florida State Seminoles have not recently lived up to the hype of their past, fans should expect a lot more from upcoming seasons. Jimbo Fischer, whose coaching style is unknown and whose energy should push the Seminoles to rebound from the loss of legend Bobby Bowden, hopes to lead the team to a winning season that will place them within the top-25 teams. Fischer, however, is not the only person who will bring attention to this underdog team; with a fantastic incoming class of players, a newly invigorated defensive line, and a strong offense led by Heisman candidate, Christian Ponder, other teams would do well not to underestimate the Seminoles as they ride into the 2010 season.

Offense: Christian Ponder may be stealing the spotlight on the FSU offense, but even after he was injured, the other players were quite formidable. With 5477 total offensive yards, they were efficient and balanced, with a huge passing game and

BCS Rankings – Alabama and Texas Meet For National Title

Final Projected BCS Rankings: Alabama and Texas Meet For National Title

We waiting weeks for this weekend to come, hoping that it would deliver the drama and intrigue that the rest of the season was missing, and it did not dissapoint.

Texas, playing in what was supposed to be a cakewalk of a Big 12 Championship Game instead needed instant replay on the clock and a 46-yard field goal that just sneaked in the uprights to clinch victory and a likely shot at the national title game.

Alabama and Florida were supposed to play in the season’s most intriguing game. Instead what we got was an Alabama romp, blowing out the Gators and likely clinching their shot at the national title.

So it’s likely that we’ll get that SEC Champ vs. Texas game when the last BCS standings are released tomorrow.

But it could have been much different.

If Texas had lost, we would have entered one of the

Wake Forest Demon Deacons College Football Tickets Available

Representing Wake Forest University and a member of the Atlantic division of the Atlantic Coast Conference since 1953, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons College Football team has won two conference championships. The most recent win was in 2006. The team plays their home games at Groves Stadium, Winston-Salem NC. The team?s colors are old gold and black, and they are more commonly known as the ?Demon Deacons,? which refers to their tough fighting spirit. Ranked by the Top 25 in the nation by the AP Poll in the whole season back in 2006, they certainly know how to make it to the top. In 2006, when they won against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Florida, they were sent to play the Big East Champion Louisville Cardinals. Even if they lost 24-13, it was a blessing in disguise for the Deacons. That same year, they became the smallest undergraduate enrollment of any school in the BCS conferences.

They played their first football game in 1888. The team also won

Maryland Terrapins College Football Ticket

The Maryland Terrapins represents the University of Maryland in the intercollegiate football team in NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, which was formerly known as Division I-A. The Maryland Terrapins is more popularly known as ‘the Terps’ and they most frequently contend within the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Originally, school’s athletic teams were known as ‘The Old Liners?. Since Maryland?s nickname was ‘Old Line State’. But then Curly Byrd suggested in 1932, that the name be changed to diamondback terrapin which is after a type of land-dwelling turtle, since Byrd spent his childhood in Chesapeake Bay, where the species is common. Then, to shorten the headlines in the newspaper, they started referring them as ?the Terps?. The abridged name remained and currently the official team name of the school. The school?s mascot is named Testudo, which is a diamondback terrapin. Testudo means ‘turtle’ in Latin. The word has

Boston College Eagles College Football Tickets Available

The Boston College Eagles college football team was established in 1892, when the college agreed to set up the team upon the request of Joseph O?Connell and John Drum, the latter becoming the team?s first coach. Since its inception the team has proven its worth as a formidable opponent, having won many of its matches among its long-standing rivals, the College of the Holy Cross and the University of Notre Dame. The team has also been ranked high in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) standings in recent years

In addition, the Boston College Eagles have been ranked among the country?s best among the college football teams for academic achievement, having garnered the highest mark possible in the polls for any college football team?s Academic Progress Rate. 2010 Miami, FL Football Predictions

Miami is coming off its best ACC finish in the last four years, as the Hurricanes went 5-3 in conference play and finished up the year in third place in the ACC Coastal Division. The Hurricanes finished off the season on a bit of a sour note, losing to Wisconsin in the Champs Sports Bowl to push their overall record to 9-4. Heading into the 2010 season the Hurricanes have 13 starters back, but have to feel like they have enough to make it to the ACC Championship game this season. Here is a quick breakdown of what the Hurricanes will send to the field this season, plus my thoughts on where they finish the season in the ACC.

Offense:

The Hurricanes bring back junior starting quarterback Jacory Harris, and his play will go a long win in deciding just how good this team is in 2010. Harris threw for 3,352 yards with 27 touchdowns in 2009, but he will have to cut down on the 17 interceptions he threw last season.

The Hurricanes suffered

The Marks Vs The Pauls

The Marks vs. The Pauls

Here’s the deal, University of Georgia’s football coach & basketball coach are bothnamed Mark, and Georgia Tech’s football coach & basketball coach are both named Paul. You follow?

Anyway, today, we’re gonna compare all of them and then you have to decide. Mark & Mark vs. Paul & Paul. They come as a set and cannot be split up. There’s a poll set up to see who wins, because what’s the point of pitting Georgia Tech & the University of Georgia against each other if somebody doesn’t win.

The Marks

Richt

Following a little more than a decades worth of disappointment at the hands of Ray Goff & Jim Donnan, Mark Richt came to Athens having coached two Heisman winners & been part of two National Championships. Quite the resume for a young coach. Vince Dooley and Michael Adams loved him, and soon the Georgia faithful would as well. Richt

ACC Football Predictions 2010

ACC Atlantic Predictions
1. Florida State Seminoles -It’s going to take an improved defense to win the Atlantic, I expect to see just that under new coordinator Mark Stoops.  Offensively, the Noles should be among the most potent teams in the league.  QB Christian Ponder could put up big enough numbers to enter the Heisman discussion.

2. Clemson Tigers – Clemson will remain a contender in the Atlantic, but ultimately, I believe the losses of C.J. Spiller and Jacoby Ford will be too much to overcome.

3. Boston College Eagles – It will be nice to see 2008 ACC Defensive Player of the Year Mark Herzlich back in action.  He will give an added boost to what should be a solid defense.  An offense that ranked 98th in the nation in yards per game in 2009 is what figures to hold the Eagles back.

4. North Carolina State Wolf Pack -Russell Wilson is as exciting a player as there is in the ACC.  He threw for 3,027 yards and 31

2010 ACC Football Predictions

The ACC figures to be a very strong conference during the 2010 season, as

there are a number of teams that could not only win the division, but

also find themselves playing for the BCS National Championship. In 2009

it was the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets who took home the conference

title, beating the Clemson Tigers for the second time in the ACC

Championship Game.

Betting college football lines is no easy task, especially in the highly

competitive ACC where it seems like the conference is always jam packed

at the top with a number of teams fighting for the chance to play in a

BCS game. With that here is a look at how I see the ACC shaping up in

2010, plus my prediction on who wins the conference championship game and

earns that automatic spot into a BCS game. For a bigger look at he 2010

season, check out Jack Jone’s overall 2010 college football predictions.

College Football Week 13 – 6 Top 25 Teams Upset on the Road, Bloom Comes Off of the ACC Title Game

Copyright © 2009 Ed Bagley

Six AP Top 25 teams can testify what a pain in the butt road games are—all were upset during college football’s 13th week of play, and 2 of the 6 will be facing off in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game this week.

The six teams with targets on their back included 7th-ranked Georgia Tech, 15th-ranked Clemson, 8th-ranked Pittsburgh, 11th-ranked Oklahoma State, 20th-ranked Mississippi and 23rd-ranked North Carolina. All but Pittsburgh were not just on-the-road, but also tackling an in-state rival.

Georgia (7-5) beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (10-2), 30-24, as the Bulldogs’ Washaun Ealey rushed 20 times for 183 yards (9.15 yards per carry) and Caleb King rushed 18 times for 166 yards (9.22 ypc)—349 yards between them. Ealey and King sound like a comedy team but the Georgia Tech players were too busy sucking Louisiana pond water to laugh.

Georgia and its coach Mark Richt have taken their lumps this
